Cirencester friendly has been providing income protection to the UK workforce for over 120 years. Established in 1890 to help support the agricultural workers of Gloucestershire, the Society now has over 33,000 Members across the United Kingdom and an enviable reputation as providers of award winning affordable income protection contracts.

Income Assured Plus – Our Award Winning Income Protection Contract.

Launched in 2006, this Holloway style income protection contract combines exceptional cover with affordability making it a favourite amongst Finanical Advisors and Members alike. Unlike many ‘pure protection’ contracts Income Assured Plus not only provides affordable cover but it also offers our Members the option to share in the Society’s success.

This is accomplished by the option to select the ‘savings element’ where for a small additional premium the Member can opt in to our surplus share scheme¹ and build a capital sum which is payable at the end of their contract.

Previous Income Protection contracts from Cirencester friendly

Cirencester friendly is a single product Society. We only offer income protection and have done so for the last 120 years. However, before the launch of Income Assured Plus in 2006 the Society offered a different contract.

Income Assured 1999 -2006

1999 saw the launch of Income Assured. This replaced our legacy contract Health & Wealth which the Society had been providing since 1890. Although it had many of the features that Income Assured Plus has today Income Assured marked a turning point in the Society’s history.

This was a new and innovative income protection contract that helped to build the success that the Society enjoys today. It made the contract more relevant to the market and paved the way for the Society to start distributing its income protection contract through Financial Advisers.

Health & Wealth 1890 - 1999

Health & Wealth is the original contract launched by the Society in 1890. Although this product is now closed to new Members (with the exception of children under 16) the Society currently has over 6000 Members under the Health & Wealth Contract.

Health and Wealth Members are able to change their contract with the Society and benefit from the features of Income Assured Plus. They are also able to enrol children under the age of 16 as Members of the Society and many of our Health & Wealth Members joined us in that way.

1. All Members who hold an Income Assured Plus Contract with the Society can opt in or out of this scheme during the life of their contract. Any accumulated sum is paid to the Member as a tax free lump sum (under current legislation) at the end of their contract. A penalty applies for early closure and this will be deducted from any monies in the Members capital account before distribution.
